Eating in a restaurant
« Reply #-1 on: May 16, 2020, 12:33:41 PM »
I ate at my local greasy spoon today since the Wisconsin Supreme Court slapped the governor's hand and allowed places to reopen.

No social distancing and no masks were in sight. And I had my favorite roast beef hash while sitting at the counter.
Fellow diners looked shell shocked like they just emerged from a bunker after a couple months of carpet bombing.

Couple of suggestions.
Pay cash if you can and let the restaurant keep all the money.
Leave a fat tip. These folks were unemployed due to no fault of their own.

For me personally I am taking a much harder look at the country of origin for the things I buy. A certain communist country needs to pay a price for destroying the greatest economy in my lifetime.

End of rant. Mods please delete if not appropriate.  Pappy out

Good for you Pappymm.

It would have been my pleasure to join you for that meal ... but unfortunately, I reside in the Socialist Republic of California  >:(  I know, I know ... I could always leave but after 40+ years and at my young age, it's not always easy to just pick up and leave.

There is hope however - The residents of Atwater CA, a city about 40 miles South of my residence, gave the City Councel a standing ovation and cheers Friday when they unanimously passed a resolution to make Atwater a sanctuary city for all businesses to open amid the coronavirus pandemic. Wish that my city would grow a set and do the same thing!!

Good for you, Pappy ! ! !

I was lucky enough to be traveling through Georgia back in April stopped and had lunch a BBQ joint outside Savannah on my ride home from Fla.  Yesterday, I slipped across the border (to SC) hand some wings a couple of beers at a sports bar in Indianland.

I agree with both of your suggestions.
