Thermopen Repair

The swivel on the probe has been wonky for several months now, couldn't tighten it up anymore and was almost useless.
Tore into it yesterday. The plastic boss had cracked and couldn't tighten up. I drilled out both sides of the thermometer, being careful not to break the thin temperature wire from the probe, then used a 3/8" nut/bolt to put everything back together. Super glued the nut so it wouldn't back out and all is well again No pictures because I didn't care about going through hoops to resize them

Good job, you would think their warranty would be longer since the $$ is sooooo high

I bought a refurb unit. Sometime after the limited warranty on it, it failed. I called them and inquired about repair. They said never mind and sent me a new one (probably refurb unit but still works today. I have found that when something fails, call the customer service # of the company. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I like it when I can repair something myself...even if customer service would take care of the problem. Good on ya rexster!
