Curious about this. Why is shipping so expensive to Canada?

Its all the fees they tack on like tax duty brokerage service fee ect ect. I have had something shipped here in canada from the states the item was $7 but then the shipping + brokerage fee was $26. Unreal and I couldn't take the package till I paid...

I usually ship stuff to our cottage up north in michigan but that's like 1.5-2hrs away. I hate traveling up there for a package lol...

If I van find folks who order in canada or at least geoup buy for stuff outside we can split cost...

My uncle had to contract out his blade sharpening for his zamboni blades because it was too expensive for the tariffs into Canada. The tariffs are there to protect Canadian businesses from outside competition but the issue is that many of these industries are no longer in Canada at all.

Canada has 8,192 tariffs categories & each have 18 tariff treatments. They charge 18% on hockey pants coming into Canada that are no longer even produced in Canada. So in that case there is no manufacturing to protect.

These costs get passed onto Canadians but most never notice when buying goods from a Canadian retailer due to they have already been tariff charged and included into the price.

Big poppa smokers will ship USPS if you specify. I usually will go south if I want to pick up pellets or when I decide to pick up a new grill. I just picked up 600 lbs of bbqers delight in the Seattle area. 12.50 a bag is pretty reasonable I thought.

Besides all the taxes we pay that we can see, our Government is very good at hiding and blending them in so you can't see. Kinda like the pea hidden under one of the three cups ???

USPS doesn't inflate broker fees. You can't get away from taxes and duty, unless you spend time in the states or you get a really nice border guard. Free trade isn't free.
