When I used to live in the Washington, D.C. area, one forecasted snow flake would send everyone into a panic. We used to say "Abandon your cars now! Don't get stuck on the beltway". The local news stations were famous for "whipping everyone into a frenzy" at the first snow report. Better get your milk and bread quickly. In my case, it involved stopping at the local ABC store and getting a bottle of Rumplemintz Peppermint Schnapps. My neighbor had a snow blower (if the weather really did hit). I would put the bottle in a snow bank by the garage door and show him the bottle and shot glasses. He would have to work his way up my driveway to get a shot. He was always good for keeping my driveway clear. He loved playing with his "toy". He also loved ice cold Rumplemintz!
