Not My Favorite Time of Year
« Reply #-1 on: January 23, 2014, 09:53:21 AM »
Just ran across this photo of my PT100 taken last summer.  It was just sitting open/on on the shelf of my Traeger which wasn't in use at the time, so that's the ambient temperature in my cook shack.  MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm 97 degrees in the shade.  I'd prefer this to the current temp in the teens.  I wanted to do some chicken last night but wound up doing it in the oven.  Come on summer  ;D

Amen to that...

I'm near where that big ZERO is in Illinois.     My truck battery finally gave up the ghost yesterday.

You are soooo right about this weather! I've had enough single digit lows (with more on the way for next week, boo!) to last me a lifetime. I know some of you are facing colder weather than that, but this winter is the coldest in nearly 30 years and I'm ready for it to be over.

A friend of a friend posted this on FB last night. Seems the weatherman from Hawaii in the picture below was warning residents there about the approaching cold weather, suggesting they wear a jacket. Seriously. We should all be so lucky!

The weatherman in question is Guy Hagi who is so accurate that he can sometimes tell if it's raining or not by looking out the window. Usually he can't.

Lest you get a false picture of our weather, it has actually gotten below a bit below 65° at night (thermal pajama, down comforter and quilt weather here) and has pretty much been in the low 80s during the day (not all that warm but pretty acceptable for mid-winter). To add to our distress we've had some pretty heavy wind (gusts to 50mph) and torrential rain dumps the last couple of nights (but at least it didn't interfere with going to the beach during the day).

I guess I'm just not empathizing correctly.
