I love history and the vast majority of my reading is in that area. I just came across a website that is super,
www.founding.com. What I like it is it goes back to the original sources for their information.
Many times you will read something that Jones said about what Smith wrote about a quotation he got from what Williams said John Adams meant. That is like the game of whispering something in someones ear and it being past through ten people and it's completely distorted at the end. That is really hearsay and is too often highly inaccurate.
One of the people I like to read is David Barton of Wallbuilders.com. I have numerous of his books and he for years has gone back to original sources for his thoughts, writings, and speeches. He may have the largest amount of original material from the Founders of any private person. I would love to get in his library.
Sorry for getting carried away and ramblin'. Bottomline is if you like history, check out
www.founding.com.
