Thanks, guys...
I appreciate your encouragement.
Some friends we haven't seen in a couple of years will be here tomorrow and we'll have a cookout with ribs and wings.  I'll try to post comments AND picks by Monday at least.
I'll be using the Akorn & the Smokenator.

B T W, you might be interested in the new ribolator - Google it...just sayin'...

Glad you are doing better.   I have been down that same path.   After several rounds of therapy, finally gave up and had the durn thing replaced.   After I did it and a rather short recovery time, wondered why I didn't do it sooner.   Just sayin'

Jaxon:  Hope you are getting well.  I see your comments on the ribolator, and I have been looking at it recently.  The main negatives that I see are balance issues with food falling off the trays.  Do you have any personal knowledge of people using it and their satisfaction with it?

DANG!
I'm feeling better already...

Thank you very much for your replies.
I have been cookin' pretty regularly on the Akorn since it doesn't require much attention, but I haven't used the kettle or the offset since May - I really miss the fire poking, but it's just too hot to deal with it.

I can't whine too much because I can STILL  cook up some pretty good ribs and friends STILL come over to eat with us.
Even more than ever, it's all about the friends and the fellowship.
Looking forward to the Gathering y'all.

I don't know anyone who has used this thing, but it looked pretty neat.  Yep, the reviews tell of balance issues.
The guy posted his phone number so I thought I might call and ask some questions.
