Back then - I think the folks in the North, Midwest, and elsewhere would have considered the accents possessed by Jerry Clower and used by Justin Wilson were..."hick" - and conveyed ignorance.Nothing was further from the truth of course. They were dumb like a fox .
Thank goodness times have changed - and those accents/customs/sub-cultures are now not only accepted - but cherished as part of the weave in the American cultural tapestry.
Maybe true - but that wouldn't have bothered my dad - this is the stuff he loved to listen too - need to find it for him now...
