My wife wanted to run the grill today!
« Reply #-1 on: May 30, 2016, 10:27:08 PM »
OK the guests were 100% her ???/our family & friends

She says I undercook things & rare or medium rare is under cooking in her book.

& I had the idea of the burger/dog bar that went over well!!!!! :)

So I said OK I will handle the sides & you handle the grill. By the way the baked beans with cheese & bacon was a big hit.

So she did a good job the burgers were medium rare (go figure) the dogs had a nice crisp skin & all was well  /.........BUT

We are all eating & one of my kids goes Mom I think the grill is on fire.

So I go running over there & flames are shooting out of the grill that she left on with food still cooking???
I had moved it further away from the house this year a good thing ;D but it was still too close for me.  Anyway with all the good sides we had & she really had cooked the burgers medium rare by mistake the only picture I got was the following one.

Two dogs & a burger you can only tell by their shape as the DNA must have been destroyed.

Seconds anyone?

But in all fairness I must say that even I was not without fault yesterday.

I missed the picture of the grill on fire ;D ;D ;D ;) but taking pictures with a camera in one hand & a fire extinguishers  in another is not a skill I have mastered ;D

Thank the Lord I did not have to use it..........It does tell us to move the grill away from the house & when you think it is far enough add another six inches.....lol ;D

Funny thing was that no one stopped eating. Bottom line that was a good thing.

Pffftttt. My Wife has your wife beat! She was taking a chimney starter full of lit coals over to an offset grill we used to own and a few little embers must have dropped onto the deck into (here's the good part) a cardboard box with a bag of lump in it! Bwawahahahahaha!!!! She had the chicken cooking on the firebox grate and went out to check on it and flip it and came running back inside frantically yelling "JASON!! JASON!! THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!! COME HERE QUICK!!!".

Well, I flew out there like I was on ice skates! It looked like a scene from a 3 Stooges movie! I had (keyword here is HAD) an extinguisher under the sink in the kitchen but when the guys came to install the granite, they accidentally discharged it and left me to clean up the mess no less. So.....without that, I had my Daughter bringing me gallon pitchers of water so I could put out the fire before it got up into the attic! My wife was below deck fiddling with the hose and finally I just had to go down there and squirt it from the driveway up onto the wall (hose was too short). We got it put out and that is what lead to me making the outdoor kitchen down below the deck.

At least we still got to eat the chicken! :D
