Well for the first cook on my new cooker I decided to do some wings. Wings were lightly seasoned with Cattleman’s Grill Ranchera rub.
The DC was preheated to 150.
Wings are in the grill and I will be smoking them for 30 minutes at 150, and then upping the temperature to 275.
After 30 minutes at 275 the wings are ready to be flipped.
Wings are ready to be sauced. I am using Daigle’s Cajun Sweet Pecan Garlic sauce.
Wings were sauced on both sides and I let them set up for about 20 minutes. They are ready to come off the grill now.
All finished!
Plated with some oven cooked fries.
Wings were excellent! They had a real nice smoke flavor and with the Ranchera rub they were awesome.
My observations after the first cook. Temperatures across the grill were consistent as the chicken cooked evenly. With this being
a lot smaller than my Grid Iron pellet grill I need to take that into consideration as far as cook times go. The wings got to temperature
way faster than they would have on my larger grill. So my other cooks that I have planned for this grill I will adjust my timing accordingly.
I can see that I am really going to like this new toy!
