Looks like a spider. I do really like my Google mesh system. Best I've had so far.

We were having trouble getting access outside by the pool. I bought the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 for around $100 as an extender and now we have super fast internet anywhere on our property. Don't know why we waited so long! LOL

Yep. The app that controls everything is really awesome. With a ton of functionality.

Maybe I don't quite understand the system. I assumed one would be hard wired into the system and be the "base" station. And the others would simply be plugged into a power outlet synching with the "base" unit and becoming a "slave/repeater/wireless" unit.  If its type of model, Then you could potentially just plug it outdoors without an Ethernet connection.  Unless every unit requires an Ethernet hookup.

I think you stated it correctly. Though I don't think they are weather proof. It isn't a repeater as I have had no luck with those. It is a completely different way of thinking about Wi-Fi

That's why I first said about making an outdoor/weatherized version. I've seen others commenting on the deficiencies of grill Wi-Fi systems.
