As some of you know, I've been away for some time with health and family issues. I've slowly been getting back into cooking - mostly simple stuff, nothing to share. Tonight my oldest daughter (yesterday's prom picture attached) said she would stop at the market on the way home and pick up something to grill. She came home with 4 nice T-bones - perfect size, a sweet onion and a couple of tomatoes, along with greens for a salad. Regardless of the result, I was impressed with her shopping skills!
She did the prep and I did the cooking. She seasoned the onions and tomatoes with olive oil and M-3. Then she put some grape seed oil on the steaks, Johnny's season salt and M-3 (all her choice.) I built the fire - 2 zone for a reverse sear. Put the onions and tomatoes on first (I'm the only one that eats the tomatoes, was nice she thought of them for me.)
Then put her steak on first, she's a great kid, but likes her meat done medium well....
After the 2nd flip, the rest of the steaks went on. Got them to about 120 and put them over the fire to sear.
What a great dinner. The other thing I realized is that I need to work on my photography skills - VERY rusty. thanks for looking.
