Igrill vs ????
« Reply #-1 on: November 14, 2013, 04:57:08 PM »
Kids stoll the iPads and I don't like searching on the phone. Sure this has been asked before but what would you recommend for me to add to my Xmas list.  I have been good and know Santa will bring what I ask for. I can monitor when using the mak but I wana see how thing are going on blue.

Igrill vs maverick or something else?

How about thermapen vs ???   I know there was a good discussion to consider all choices.  I can live with a second or two to get temp.  Heck all I have been using takes minutes.  Would like back light because it gets dark early here And with all the rain it is kinda dark.  Water resistant would be cool also.

The maverick 732 is a good remote thermometer - with 2 channels, so you can monitor the cooking temp, and the meat temp. Good range, and you can get it with 6 foot probe leads.

What one do you seem to catch yourself using more often?
One easier than others?  Do like easy.
Tappecue seems a bit much for me.  Not sure I need 6 probes. Although being on the network would be nice for the new place.  Be out with the kids playing on the property and still monitor.

Well since getting the iGrill and the Tappecue my two ET-732s have remained dormant. Honestly the cooks I have been doing lately have not required any temperature monitoring though.

The iGrill runs on Bluetooth so the distance is limited. That is the nature of Bluetooth technology. I could be in another state and still see the temps on the Tappecue since it is internet based. If I could get the easy graphing ability that is used on the iGrill to be on the Tappecue it would be perfect.

Of the devices I would recommend the Tappecue.
