I've had some questions as to what events are planned for the Fall Gathering? Answer: There ain't none. We have tried laying out some in the past and it never worked out as planned. Saturday afternoon late will be a big buffet with different things happening then. This will be followed by a bonfire lit and supervised by Terry from LA (Lower Alabama). Sunday morning we will have a short service down by the lake for those who would like to attend.
What we will do is have some impromptu presentations/tips/demonstrations as come about. For instance, let's say that Pam decides she would like to talk about meat stickin' and how to prevent it. She may say something like, "In fifteen minutes over by the RecTec, I'll demonstrate meat stickin' and what to do about it. So, if your meat sticks come see me and I'll handle it." Those who want to see and hear Pam talking about meat stickin' will go over and learn something.
I know we have some people who have some great skills that will be called on to talk about or demonstrate.
The purpose of the Fall Gathering is just for people to come together, relax, and share their love of cooking. There are no reservations required and no minimum time one must stay. Don't worry about the cost. Just bring your sleeping gear and toilet articles.
I have three cabins reserved as it stands right now:Pam, Old Dave, and Cliff. There's one more if someone wants it, but keep in mind cabins don't have toilet/shower facilities as does the bunk house. Of course, there is a shower house close by and for a nominal fee those staying in the bunk house maybe willing to share the showers there.
If there anything I can do let me know or if you have any questions let me know. I'll post directions again next week.
