This is why we can't have nice things
« Reply #-1 on: November 06, 2014, 02:37:19 PM »
I love James DEARLY, and over the years have held firmly to the belief that I can help him learn how to cook something other than the minute rice with canned chili dish he ate six days a week when we first met.  It's been an uphill battle, but we've slowly made our way up to him cooking "big boy rice" with canned chili.  :)

However, after accepting his offer to help me cook up some bacon last night, I'm having a bit of a crisis of faith.

R.I.P  Three lbs of delicious thick cut bacon.   Not even the dogs will love you now.

(Need I mention this is on my brand spankin' new MAK that had been used ONCE before this?)

Develop an alibi for him quickly.  I think this is at least a misdemeanor if not a felony.

It looks like he forgot to put it in the griddle ....and placed it directly on the heat shield/drain pan....?

While I wouldn't put that past him, Tee, that's just the leftover shrapnel that fell through the grates as it all disintegrated into bacon dust!   He'd put the grates down for the dogs to have them help cover for his sins...  but they didn't want ANY part of that mess!   (Which is saying a LOT, considering some of the things we've caught them eating around the barnyard....)

I told him to just leave the stuff on the grease pan for the night, I needed some time to mourn.  I'm planning on making my first snack sticks in casings this weekend, but he has to clean that mess up before he gets any.  :)  Apropos punishment to fit a gruesome crime, yes?

Looks like he broke the new Mak in good!!!  ::) Don

I think he overdid it on the "broke" part!!

It looks like James burnt your bacon... and fried his own, in one fell swoop!  ??? :P

The good news is he can just scrape off the drip pan and throw it into your self-cleaning oven for a round and it will come out just fine.
