Hello from PA

Just wanted to introduce myself and ask one beginning question. My wife purchased
a Rec-Tec for me for my birthday and couldn't be happier. I'm sure I have a lot to learn
and my first question would be (I saw this was deleted) is there a good chart for basic
times per pound and temperature things should be smoked at?

Welcome!
If there is something that is deleted - please make us aware of it. If we are having forum software issues - they will be addressed. Tho - if it was a photo of a chart which hosted here on LTBBQ - vs - hosted by a true photo hosting site ( Photobucket, Picasa, Smugmug, etc...) then after approx. 90 days - photos posted directly here on LTBBQ are removed to preserve bandwidth.
I preach this often - and loudly...PLEASE don't just post photos to the forum - because they are temporary...Get an acct. to store photos on line - ( they are free!) and use that to post the IMG link here on LTBBQ. You photos will appear here - but actually reside on the photo hosting server, so that we do not have to pay for extra bandwidth.
I will post this as a separate post as well.

Welcome from Lower Alabama!
Cook times are somewhat veritable. Temp is what we are looking for. A little digging here will help you find temps for various meats. These also vary for sliced vs pulled.Along with the cut of meat your cooking.
When you find the cut you want to cook just ask and you should get several options from folks on here.
I like low and slow for smoking which the RecTec will do with ease.  230 is my target for most roast, butts, ribs and chicken when smoking.
