Hope everyone fared alright

Big storm along the East coast yesterday. Lot of nasty storms the past few days in the Gulf region, and when I got home from work yesterday evening, there were almost 300 miles worth of tornado warnings.  The past 2 days there have been almost 65 confirmed tornados, and countless number of high wind damage reports.

I hope everyone made it through okay.

We had 20 to 30 mph winds - gusts to 40 - all day long, but otherwise, dodged the other "bullets" flying around us - some came close.

Couple tornado's in the area here. Pensacola got tagged and a county north of us had a bad tornado as well. We had a lot of thunder storms and the straight line wind was bad.
We got really lucky at the house and managed to be somehow be right in the middle of a small gap though most of it.  I mean literally about a half mile wide path of almost calm.  I could hear the wind and breaking limbs in the woods on both sides of us along with a lot of lightning. It was very much like a hurricane.
I text Ray(RAD) to check on them because of the tornado reports for his area. He's OK..
There was a few houses with major damage and an apartment building in Pensacola that really got smashed bad. I feel for those folks.

Some of the storms rolling through were moving at 70 mph.  I'm glad everyone here is okay.

Probably the highest sustained winds we've had in Charlotte since Hugo in '89.

There were a lot of trees down and power outages in the area, but, fortunately I was spared!

We were very fortunate in North Raleigh late yesterday.  They let the schools out 3 hours early so traffic was greatly reduced when the wind & storms rolled in.  Scary stuff!

Lots of rain, lots of wind, lots of downed trees - then yesterday we had snow and sleet, which evaporated on contact with the ground....strange weather ...
