A long time ago I stopped buying the wife flowers, we decided they only last 2 or 3 days and die so a waste of money. I thought for our 50th anniversary I needed to get her flowers so got an arrangement made at the florist.
No big party just dinner out with the VIP’s in my life, my wife Nancy, daughter Sara Jane, son Jason, his wife Tonya and grandson Gavin Quinn. They are the ones that keep me going!
Our daughter lives in Bowling Green so we met her there Saturday evening at Trotters. Trotters was a favorite place to eat when Jason was going to college there. They had the best steaks with a killer sauce, some hard rolls for dipping and good fries.
For appetizers we had stuffed mushrooms, spicy garlic chicken wings and banana pepper sauce wings.
We all had steaks except Tonya had some chicken dish she said was good. The small brown jug steak is cut 2 inches thick and about 8 oz. served in a cast iron pan with the sauce (au jus) with a good hard roll and plenty of fries. A large salad of choice is also included.
Tonya had a friend from work make a cake (they are delicious) for us and topped it with some silk Fuji mums, they were my wife’s wedding flowers. We had a great waitress and she said it was fine if we brought the cake in for dessert.
