I talked to them a couple of years ago about their Texas shaped offering. I understand they make a model that looks very much like a Hasty Bake..........that is all I know............

This is much different than a Hasty Bake. Definitely not apples to apples ;-)

I do like the ability to use both charcoal and / or wood.
I am not sure but I believe the Hasty Bake is a charcoal only unit.

I've got a Hasty Bake 256 Gourmet.  It's a great cooker, here it comes, BUT, it is a fuel hog and you pretty much cannot snuff out your charcoal once you're done using it.

I don't have an M1 but I've spent time looking at it online.  Seems like a very good cooker.  I doubt the charcoal grate has as much travel as the HB grate, but the additional smoker box with diffuser plate system may make up for that.

Were I to buy again I'd give the M1 strong consideration.

Well, the deed has been done. M1 was ordered today. With the Texas state fair, they have a special going on. Should be here in 2-3 weeks. Cannot wait!!! :)
