The sale is great but I wish the Smoke was on sale.
They tell me there's no plan for a sale on Smoke because it's new and demand is meeting supply. Honestly after using it for a couple of months I think they underpriced it. At $99 I really, really think it's worth it.
For anyone interested in the Smoke or DOT I'd recommend you get a waterproof needle probe. Those work great as meat probes and read temps as fast as the thermopop.
If you get the Chef Alarm I'd recommend the air probe or at least get a grate clip. The ChefAlarm has high and low alarms, as well as logging of your highest and lowest temps experienced during the cook, so it's a great pit thermometer. The Smoke has these features as well but already comes with the air probe. The ChefAlarm comes with the curved hybrid probe and a pot clip. Yes, a pot clip... I keep giving them grief about that and hope one day they'll bundle my desired probes with each thermometer unit.
