I had a somewhat exciting day on Friday
« Reply #-1 on: January 28, 2017, 03:25:04 AM »
Started out going to the hospital to have outpatient surgery to laser zap a kidney stone. Turns out the large stone shown on the CT scan was hidden behind a membrane in the kidney. So when they sliced into the membrane there were about 15 smaller ones hiding behind the big one. So I guess it was a good thing that I elected to go get it rather than trying to pass it.
More exciting was waking up in the recovery room with a bunch of folks circled around me saying "breathe sir, good now breathe some more." Found out that I had coded and the crash cart team had come running in. From what I understand my heart didn't stop, (so I didn't get a chance to see the white light - or the red light if I was going somewhere else). But it was "crashing" with my heart rate sinking fast. They were able to reverse it with the lowest point of the drop reaching 32. After a while everything returned to normal and I was able to go home.

I'll have some pain for a while but they gave me some good meds. But the problem will be tomorrow when I get "med-upped" and watch TV (and read this forum) and start buying all this stuff that "I just can't live without." The good aspect is I'll have an excuse when the wife asks why all this BBQ stuff is showing up.
Why couldn't Noah have swatted the 2 mosquitoes?.

Kinda been there myself recently but I haven't used it as an excuse to buy more barbeque stuff.  Must give that some due consideration  ;)

Seriously, glad you pulled through the code and are still with us.  Thanks for sharing your adventure.

Been there with the kidney stones.  Too many times, in fact.  I have been through the basket retrieval method, laser zapping method, the sonar/water pillow method, and just plain passing the stones if and when they were small enough.  The last big stones I had required both the laser and water pillow methods before I could pass the gravel pit the doctor created.  I felt like I had Mike Tyson pounding on my right kidney for ten rounds.

Glad you are able to pass along your experience and you are okay.
