Well, for the last couple of years we have had some slim pickins, but more so since last year. We could not find adequate employment on the mountain so we high tailed it to the Diamond Valley in the Inland Empire and things are looking up. We just might find that clearing in the forest.
Now many of you might not know this but I was probably the first guy around here to have a Pit Barrel Cooker. I let Tim have Noahs information and Pit Barrel Cooker has been one of our beloved forum sponsors for many years now.
A low point for me was when I had borrowed some money from a neighbor on the mountain and I could not pay him back when we left the mountain.
He gladly took my 5 year old PBC for payment.
So a couple days ago when we got home and there was a brand new PBC all boxed up sitting on my front porch, I was a happy camper.
It just got better. Anything on the PBC site you could add to the shopping cart, Wendy did!! Quite a Birthday.
So we run to Staters to get some meat and tri tips are 2.99 a lb..........and then it gets better.......................
I go to the beer section and open the door to grab a 30 pak of Busch and then I see them:
The "nectar of the Gods"
So we run home and i finally get to make a marinade I saw on Smoker Pete site: Fagundes seasoning and Hamms beer.........what a nice marinade
I quickly realized the split grate needs to be upside down....almost lost the lobster tails
After the 45 minute cook, I added the PBC designed grill grates (I told you Wendy bought everything on the site)
Wendy made some wine/mushroom gravy and we chowed
It is so nice to have a PBC again...I felt nekked
Wendy has informed me that I will be not getting a pellet grill anytime soon. She prefers charcoal.
She would like to know when PBC is going to make a horizontal grill, she says they could call it a PBG......Pit Barrel Grill
Hey, it could happen
