Horse meat at Burger King?
« Reply #-1 on: January 25, 2013, 12:21:08 AM »
This was in the news:

"Burger King drops firm which supplied horse meat"

I think I may have eaten one of those burgers.  This evening my daughter asked me a math question...

I whinnied, then stamped the answer out using my foot!  ???

I wonder if you could actually tell a difference if it was mixed with beef.

I have tried it (was tricked into it  :P  )  I was at a cookout my father and the guys he worked with would put on and someone brought a hunk to cook on the open pit.

Well Dad ask me to try a piece of meat and I did.

Only way I can describe it is chewy and stringy.   Taste was ok but the more you chewed and drank the bigger the hunkgot  ???     Reminded me of the time I had crackers from an MRE at a hunting camp.  While eating them and drinking water the lager the mouthful became..

Years ago, on a business trip to Warsaw, Poland, I ate at a Polish steakhouse near my hotel.  The menu, which included USDA prime beef offerings (imported and very expensive there) also featured some horse steaks.  One member of our group was quite incensed at this and told the manager what she thought.  Ultimately we all enjoyed a good meal there except for her.  Her steak was very tough and had kind of a strange flavor, she said.  Hmmmm.  I told her it tasted like Trigger.  Sometimes its best to keep one's opinions private.

Years and years ago, my first wife was down in Rosarita Beach in Mexico where we had the best Machaca and Eggs!! We got back to her Aunts place and her Aunt busted out laughing when my wife told her where and what we ate!! Turns out this place used strictly dog meat for their beef entrees!!!!!!

Didn't get sick but I just can't stop my bad habit of chasing parked cars!!  :( ;D :D ::)
