The scary thing is seeing people text and drive at the same time........
I know exactly what you mean!  It's scary as hell!

I hate, loathe, despise, abominate and abhor cell phones.  My last ten years as a road warrior included many incidents like this one where some rude jerk had to entertain an entire plane, lounge or office with their side of an unnecessary conversation.  One of the best ideas I ever saw was a "no phone zone" in one of the airline clubs I belonged to.  If you got a call, you had to go into one of the provided "isolation booths" to take it.  The peace and quiet was wonderful!

I still have a cell phone (a cheap flip thing) and pay ten bucks a month for a few minutes of use.  I carry it when I'm on the road in case of emergencies.  I almost never use it.  Instead of texting, I use e-mail (lots easier to do), and should I want to do any inquiries or research, they can wait until I'm in front of my laptop.  I'm into lots of interesting stuff and love electronic devices that help me, but cell phones are a lousy little tool to work with and it is absolutely laughable how people behave with them.  Civility, manners and common sense fly out the window at every ringtone.

The phone I miss is the one I grew up with. You just turned the crank and when the operator answered I just said ring up Grampas please!
I use my cell phone for emergencies and only use it to call my Mother everyday to see how she is and a short chat.
I have never been out driving and think I need to call and talk to some one!
I have trouble typing on a full keyboard so how could I use a cell phone?
