I tried my first Turkey in the SRG for Thanksgiving and learned a few things and now can answer questions I have seen on the forum. How big of a turkey will fit in the SRG?

What about brining? I used this I found at Bed, Bath and way out there...when I boiled it on the stove to dissolve the salts and sugars the whole house smelled like roasted turkey

Lesson learned - rotate turkey at least once through the cook..I had one place in the breast that was under cooked....guests said the breast was the best and juiciest they had ever eaten
Tommy (aka TMB) is helping me with the smoke...I have the Tommy Ring, the holes in the smoke box and have added a vent to the top..I did not get much smoke on this one but the bird did have a nice light smoke taste
