It’s 10 PM here; I am usually in bed by now. I must be worried about what the storm going through will leave us with by morning. They were predicting 1 to 2 overnight, 4 to 6 today and 2 more tonight and dropping temps would be 0 deg. tomorrow and a wind chill of 30 to 40 below. I know this is the norm for some of our Northern and Canadian members.
We had no snow overnight and didn’t start here until Noon. It snowed about an hour and a half and then we got rain and then slush. It was actually slushy, kind of between rain and sleet. It did this until 8 PM. The front had stopped its easterly movement and was moving NE. Wapakoneta stayed on the line separating the rain to the SE and the snow to the NW. The temps stayed about 33 deg. that whole time.
My daughter from NE Indiana called about 3 PM and said they had at least 10 inches. After I talked to her I went out and cleaned some of the slush off my drive. Our street was all slushy ruts and was glad to see the snow plows come through to clear it off. It has been snowing but I don’t think too heavy, windy so hard to see. The temp has dropped to 24.
Our son is in S.C. and coming back tomorrow if he can get a flight in. Our dil is an administrative supervisor at a hospital and went in to help her department since they were shorthanded; she made it home OK. She is going to try to make it in tomorrow.
She and the grandson ate supper with us tonight. I heated up, in my Crockpot, what was left of my ribs, kraut and spaetzel from New Year’s along with the mashed potatoes. The grandson ate some chicken and noodle soup I had left. I fixed one of our favorites, cheesy pull bread to have with supper. It tasted great on a cold stormy evening.
I hope all of you stay safe, keep warm and have some good food!!!
