Chat window
« Reply #-1 on: February 09, 2014, 03:07:58 PM »
OK so I am not really into the late night chat thing like on some forums but we do have one here and never see anyone using it. Give me your thoughts as to why its not popular. Just thinking for those long late night smokes it might be fun to get something going.
Maybe I am not seeing when its being used so post if its better on some nights than others.

It is kind of an inside joke among the Admins. In the first couple of months after starting LTBBQ - we had some members that insisted how important it was that we have a chat room. We researched it - and found one that works very reliably with the software, and installed it.

To this date - I do not know that it has ever real been used.

What we need is  for a member to be the spark plug, and start a regular "Tues evening chat " or whenever is selected as ideal for the folks that agree to try it. Or - you could bug any of our vendors to  make an appearance during the scheduled chat, and talk about and answer questions about their products.

You may want to talk it up among the membership, like A2 mentioned above. Let folks know. Set a discussion agenda. And - have fun ;D.

For the mods.

I'm logged into chat but at the bottom of the main web page it shows no one. Maybe this is because I'm on an ipad.

My son would be really good at keeping the chat window open.......he has no problem chatting on the Xbox with all his buddies all over the world all day. I think it's great he can talk to someone in England and the usa at the same time. He hears the difference in their accent and how they think about the world and people. Trust me he has heard lots of racist remarks from kids, to bad they come from the parents views. He has so far just blocked them out, I'm proud of him for that.

I think it is because we basically use the forum as a chat window.
