I love the majesty of Redwood trees. Here in Northern California we have the most beautiful Redwoods groves. So when we built our house 12 years ago I decided to plant a Redwood tree in each corner of our back yard (against the wishes of the boss). They were about 4 feet tall. You can guess the rest - they grew and grew to 50-60 feet!!!!!
Our neighbors on both sides have a pool and SWMBO was getting worried that the Redwood roots might start to damage their pools and leave us liable for repairs. I also discovered years ago that the Redwoods shaded my garden from the early sun and late afternoon sun.
So ... for those reasons (using my best impression from the movie 'Scarface') we decided to "Shay Goodbye to my lil trees!!!!!" ...
Before ...
After ...
If I were to attempt this it would have taken me months and fences and my patio would be damaged or destroyed. Realistically, there is NO way I would even tackle a job like this!! These 2 guys took 6 hours from start to finish and nothing was harmed and left the area pristine. Jose, the climber/cutter, dropped the branches and logs on a dime!
