Funny how things go in this great country
« Reply #-1 on: November 09, 2016, 11:29:31 AM »
First off I'm writing this as an observation NOT as a political statement.   So please take this as it is meant as an "observation" of how the news/media has treated the news of Trump winning the election.

As the news was reported you could see unbelief in the eyes of the news media.  Since I'm kinda stuck at home TV and my computer are my only source of outside info.  After following this race then finding out who had won I could not wait to see & hear what was going to be said about Mr. Trump on the Big three networks because the local news channels here were pretty much heart broken over this

Watching NBC, ABC & CBS one can only come to the conclusion Trump is correct about the media.  I seen and heard things  that if they had said this about the current president they would have been slammed against the proverbial wall and called every name in the book including "raciest", and more which I will not repeat.

Wait till the late shows get their say, again things will be said and done that would not be said against the current president

I will not say weather or not it's a good thing he is in, but if it pissed off the ABC show ''the VIEW" that much I'm in

OK, stepping down now

My dad has been gone since 1987 but at that time he would play golf with Mr. Trump a few times a year starting in the 70's. My dad liked the man & would tell my Mom that "he comes from some money but he will be a big success someday on his own". My dad would be pleased with this but would not like what the networks have done.

Thanks Tommy

This is a touchy subject here on LTBBQ, so I'll try to put this in an apolitically way. The network news broadcasts and any cable/net airers who profit from their sponsors' ads are not a biased source of news. They all are skewed to the requests of their sponsors for $$$$$$$. This started in the mid to late '70's. Don't go to them for the truth.

The bias of the news media has been so blatant that they have lost credibility and legitimization as purveyors of news.  There are two ways to show bias or outright lie.

1.  To deliberately lie or repeat a deliberate lie
2.  To tell the truth selectively leaving out important facts to deliberately bias the reporting.

Both of these have been done on a massive scale to the extent that the mainstream news media are nothing more that propagandists today in my eyes.
I know nothing, I see nothing, I hear nothing.

In the days of "greats" like Cronkite and the like.....you could count on the NEWS as being defined as WHAT happened.... It was up to you to decide how you felt about it. Not anymore, however.
Today, "news" is always shaped or tilted to support an agenda or political philosophy. The dumbing down of America is such that we have allowed the "talking heads" to not mrely report, rather they now create a message which cause most to emotionalize about HOW the information is being delivered.
This has de-legitimized "the news" for me.
I no longer am a willing victim of their desire to make salacious tales to gossip about.... rather than just the facts.

Believe none of what you hear...and only half of what you see...

I have voted in every National Election since 1960 and this is the first time I did not vote  for who I thought best for the Republic but instead I voted against who I thought the worst.
