I think I built a blast freezer for peas at that plant in the late 80's. When you pulled into the plant it had that huge jolly green giant about 100' tall. This thing was about 50 yards long and would freeze peas Pretty darn quick. The biggest thing I remember is we used screws instead of rivets on the sheet metal and had to go back and change it. :)

Well.. that certainly answers a few questions about Pappy's morbid fear of peas...I mean - if the blast freezes had a lot of loose screws because of peas.....?

Yes sir, you could see it right off the freeway and we stayed in a motel across the freeway. Ladies were real friendly round them parts back then ;)
