Country and Western Songs
« Reply #-1 on: August 18, 2013, 08:46:17 PM »
Like many of you here I really love Country and Western music; however, I don't care too much for the new stuff. It all sounds the same to me.  Thanks to YouTube we can still listen to some of the classics.  Two of my favorite love songs there are "The Bridge Washed Out and I Can't Swim and My Baby's on the Other Side" and "Just a Bowl of Butterbeans."  They don't make 'em like that anymore.  If any of y'all have song writing talent I've got some names of Country and Western songs you can write the lyrics and music to.  Don't worry about giving me any royalties.  Just knowing you have brought joy to millions will be enough reward to me.
Well, here goes:
*"When I'm Alone I'm in Bad Company."
*"I Wouldn't Take Her to a Dogfight, but I Know She'd Win if I Did."
*"You Don't Have to Go Home Baby, but You Can't Stay Here."
*"The More I Think of You, the Less I Think of Me."
*"Don't Cry Down My Back, Baby, You Might Rust My Spurs."
*"I Can't Afford to Half My Half Again."
*"Forever, For Us, Wasn't Nearly As Long As We Planned On."
*"I Got To Her House Just In Time to Be Late."
*"I'm Afraid To Come Home Early Without Warning Her First."
*"My Wife Ran Off With My Best Friend--And I Sure Do Miss Him."
*"I'd Rather Be Picked Up Here Than Put Down At Home."
*"When the Phone Don't Ring, You'll Know It's Me That Ain't Calling."
*''If You Want To Keep the Beer Real Cold, Put It Next To My Ex-Wife's Heart."
*I Need Somebody Bad Tonight Because I Lost Somebody Good Today."
*"Now That She's Got Me Where She Wants Me, She Don't Want Me No More."
*"Remember to Remind Me I'm Leaving."
*"Them What Ain't Got Can't Lose."
*"I'm Sick and Tire Of Waking Up Sick and Tired."

Well, there you have it.  Maybe they can be debued at the Gathering.

One more title I have that I wish someone would write the lyrics and music for: "I'll Get Over You When You Get Out From Under Him"

When you leave, walk out backwards so I'll think you're walkin' in"

How can I miss you if you won't leave me alone?

Other titles I remember, but can't post because "this is a family oriented forum"...helllloooo?

How about "Help, I'm white and I can't get down" or "Chubby, please take your love to town" or "Five dollar fine for whinning" or "I didn't kiss her bye, but I kissed the bus for haulin' her away" (my personal favorite) or " I wish I had a job to shove". Sorry to say that these are actually all real songs.
