Check out Weston also. They are quite similar to LEM and the Cabelas units are usually made by either of the other 2 companies under private label.

I'd go with the Cabelas. Five year warranty verses a Lems 2 year warranty. more HP with Cabelas and it accepts the sausage kit for when you loan your stuffer out. I have a Cabelas Cheapo grinder and it works fine for me ($99).
I do think Lem has really good customer service and excellent products.

Both are really good grinders.  My preference between those two models would be for the Cabelas. It's a little stronger, better warranty and they offer other attachments that will fit it.

Wife and I have the Cabela's 1 3/4 HP grinder with the #42 grinding plate. We went with Cabela's brand because of warranty and know they stand behind the products they sell. Enjoy your trip through Cabela's Sparky... I know we always leave there feeling broke!

Oh it's gonna be a bad thing for Sparky's wallet today! He's going to come home with all kinds of new toys and projects!! He will thus be fully embraced by the DARKSIDE!!

Sparky, if I am spending your money the Cabela's grinder is in my cart and grinning all the way to the check out stand.  Can hardly wait for some pics of your 1st batch of sausage.

1/2 hp should be fine. Sheep or no casing for breakfast sausage. Hog for brat sized sausages. 19-21mm collagen for snack sticks

Sparky, we sell a lot of the LEM products at Academy Sports. The #8 they have online at academy.com right now is not the solid stainless steel one but it is all metal at $99 and free shipping. We normally have the #8 stainless in the stores for well under $200. You can get the #12 all stainless at academy.com for $399 and free shipping.
