West Coast Slawsage
« Reply #-1 on: September 08, 2013, 05:47:57 PM »
So I decided to Put the Slawsa in the dog today ;) I was looking at a cabbage sausage recipe and thought well if cabbage is good in sausage then Slawsa has got to be even better. Here we go....

1LB of ground pork ( like 70/30)
1/2 LB of ground beef 80/20
7 oz. of Garlic Slawsa
1 Onion Ground to slop
2- tsp. salt
1- tsp. sugar
1- tsp. black pepper
1- tsp. marjoram

Mix it all up and stuff in hog casings.

I have about two and a half hours to figure out what I am going to pair these baby's with :)

I was thinking that might be a good idea and then as usual I thought twice and I think that combination could blow a serious gasket ;) :)

Keymaster, how big would you say that onion is.  A medium yellow onion? or med-large?

Inquiring minds want to know!

So I decided to poach the West coast slawsage and then cook them outside on the Electric grill. I stand by this recipe as they were Awesome!! That does not happen often :) Here's the rest of the pictures.

Bring a pot of water, splash of oil and salt to a rolling boil and put the slawsage in the pot and shut the heat off, wait 8 minutes and the Internal temp should be 160° F.

Rinse in cold water for 5 minutes

Take out of water and put in refrigerator for a hour or take directly to the grill

I was feeling lazy tonight so I used the electric grill...

All done and really good!!
